Currently, the company is Viacom, after a business which involved 160 million on 21 July 2005. Neopets allows players to adopt one of the 54 species of virtual pets and play hundreds of flash games and other fun activities that has to earn Neopoints, the currency of the game, with which you can buy different items. However some of the activities of the page require the use of real money, although not necessarily required for the game. The game itself has no specific objectives or missions to solve, except in special activities undertaken by the staff as the plots. They are the players themselves who choose their personal goals, such as changing the color of your pet, buy a set of clothes, collect objects, among others.Neopets extends beyond the network with a video game for Nintendo DS, a trading card game, input from cell phones, shirts and a variety of merchandising.
