Watershed Management The international experience on the issue of water management, watershed and environment indicate a clear tendency to strengthen the capacities of governance over territories defined by natural reasons. The territory is considered a watershed for several reasons, the most appropriate for this task. At the international level is now available a vast network of information, referral and case management for successful watershed for different purposes. International experiences are useful references but each country should establish its feasibility and method of application. The watershed management approach began with the need to manage water, including the multiple use of it and monitor the effect of extreme hydrological events. The basins were taken initially as areas of major investment in water projects aimed at increasing the supply of water, energy, and navigability.Currently, this line approaches in vogue are those of the Integrated Management of Water Resources. Parallel to the flow of water through watershed management has also been developing and implementing watershed management approaches and integrated management of watersheds. Watershed management is an issue that was initially associated to control the uptake of water from a basin, then to the protection and resource conservation and ultimately to improving the quality of life for its inhabitants.
